Cleveland's Jerome Harrison Will Not Have A Big Day Against The Raiders

Last week Jerome Harrison gashed the Chiefs for 286 rushing yards. This is the third best performance in NFL history, or is it?

It is no coincidence that Joshua Kribbs reeled off two 100 plus yard kick-off returns in the same game.  Most of the yards gained by Harrison were in the second half after Kribbs had already broken the Chiefs will to win. I wasn’t at the game, but it seems to me like the team from Kansas City just didn’t give their full effort. This was not the game of the week. It was the game of the weak. It was weak defense with an inconsistent offense on the part of Cleveland, against weaker defense and worse offense.

The Oakland defensive line must shut down the run much as they did at Mile High last week. Brady Quinn is not going to play which means Derek Anderson will get the start. He has the only passer rating lower than Jamarcus Russell. The Raiders must make Anderson put the ball in the air. He will already be nervous trying to impress Mike Holmgren, the new GM. This can be a statement game for Oakland.

The combination of tired sore legs from running over KC, combined with a good lead by Oakland will keep Harrison from running up his stats.
