Kim Couture was seriously injured during her fight with Kim Rose in their match last night in Las Vegas.

When examined at a hospital after the fight, the extent of her injuries appeared to be a broken jaw and a broken nose; although this most likely will be determined when she has a consultation with a specialist later today.

The match was the debut in the sport of Women's MMA for both Kims. Although Couture was on the losing end, she kept fighting until the match ended in a unanimous 30 - 27 victory for Rose.

Rose gave "Sugar Free" a hard time with a flurry of vicious strikes while standing and also outclassed her on the ground.  Couture was said to look unsure of herself at times but was determined to hold out and go the distance.

Couture had hoped her height advantage (5' 8") and what she jokingly referred to as her "long monkey arms" would give her a distinct advantage during the fight.  But it wasn't meant to be.

As she embraced her shorter, more compact 'sister-fighter' after the fight, Couture, with blood staining her white shirt, looked not just bruised and battered, but totally demoralized.

Whether this will end her foray into the relatively new sport or not is yet to be seen.

I would like to congratulate her for her courage and perseverance, as well as her ability to finish a devastating fight with a superior fighter.

Best wishes to Couture for a speedy and complete recovery.  Surely her husband Randy will know all the best treatments for her injuries, having suffered many himself during his career as an MMA fighter.

And ladies, be advised that this sport is definitely not for prima donnas  or sissies.  (Now you can't say that you were never given an adequate warning.)

  1. This fight was so gruesome! Hit after hit to the face......she definately didn't look like she was ready to fight! But ya gotta praise Kimmie for staying in there for all 3 rounds. Little Pitbull lived up to her name!

    1. I agree with you. Wow, what a brutal beating!

  2. bahahahahaha.... what do you expect when you have no skills. What a joke and what a shame to all of us REAL female fighters that are still struggling at the amature level and Mrs. Kimmie "homewrecker" Couture jumps the lunch line cause her husband is Randy. Good luck talking all that trash and smack with a wired jaw.

    1. Along with others of your ilk (look it up) I would advise you to read my article about women fighters who feel compelled to destroy their heroes. You and another "listen to me I AM a woman MMA fighter" have so much to learn! Shame on you for a lack of good sense, human compassion, and good sportsmanship.

    2. I was about to say the same thing Dorothy said. Jealousy is a B!tch!! HATER!! (there Dorothy, her ilk need things simplify in their own language)

  3. Regardless of the outcome, this is evidence that MMA fighting with either gender can't be taken lightly. Even with recent research showing that only about 3% of MMA fights end with a concussion and that it is no more dangerous than any other combat sport, it takes a lot of skill to step into the ring or cage.

Women get no free rides in MMA.

  4. best fight of the night, hands down.

    1. U have to be kidding... The match wasnt even entertaining...Kim Couture took such a vicious beating ... it was shameful.... she was dismantled very similar to the whoopin the Celts put on the Lakers.... I felt bad for her because she just wasnt prepared to fight Rose... It was obvious from the opening bell... As game as Couture was... The brutal beating she endured could be totally devastating to her i guess u can call it...Her career...

I say grab roger, jeff or floyd mayweather sr to teach her defensive skills with her hands because she block not a punch.... Also she was billed as a standup striker...How bout strikee... I admire her for hanging tough... Now to call her out as a home wrecker...whatever...Thats has nothing to do with her in ring skills...Just simply not ready nor enough ability...
