Last year’s holiday season brought us the Air Jordan “Countdown Package,” which consisted of the Air Jordan 11s and Air Jordan 12s. The Jordan 11s were the Jordans featured in the film Space Jam.

Specifically, the black and white Air Jordan 11s are referred to as the “Space Jams” because Michael rocked them in the film.

The Air Jordan 11s are considered by many to be the best Jordan of them all. The whole design around the “Space Jams” was that they were the first basketball shoe you could wear in a more formal setting, they were that pimp.

Let’s take a look at the other historical significance of the “Space Jams.”

Another color way that made waves was the “Space Jam” with a red sole. This is one of the most popular Jordan 11s.

Historical Fact

Allen Iverson actually wore the Jordan 11s while at Georgetown. The colorway he rocked matched the Georgetown unis perfectly.

When he reached the NBA, Iverson ultimately ended up signing with Reebok, and he could rock the Jordan 11s no more.

These are the kicks that most remember Jordan wearing.

Originally released in 1996, there has been one other release since in 2000.

However, in 2009, the "Space Jams" are back and have been re-released at select stores across the country.

Go get a pair! Trust me.
