Football in the Summer: 2008 CFL Season to Begin Next Week

Mike DiMauroSenior Writer IJune 20, 2008

Is everyone ready for some football this summer? Though the NFL traning camp does not start until late July and the preseason on August 3 (Hall of Fame game, Indianapolis Colts vs. Washington Redskins) and the regular season on September 4 (Washington Redskins @ New York Giants), there is still some football going on north of the border in Canada.

The 2008 CFL season will begin on June 26 with two games. First, we have Montréal going to Hamilton to take on the Tiger Cats at 7PM (ET).

That follows a game at 10PM (ET) with the British Columbia Lions going to Calgary to take on the Stampeders.

On the next day, we'll see Toronto going to Winnipeg to take on the Blue Bombers.

The first weekend of the CFL season ends on June 28 with the Edmonton Eskimos taking on the 2007 Grey Cup Champions, the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

All games will be on CBC or TSN. There will also be at least one game each week on Sirius Satellite Radio, most likely on channel 186.
