I like to see Alex join the Habs, I just hope the Ducks Brian Burke knows what hes doing.

this is good new. At some point, I guess Montreal fans all were desperate about getting someone "descent"! lol

I just hope the guy will come with a great season, otherwise the entire city will be on his back and the old story will come back again about the pressure on Quebecois players.
    now, take that Latendresse!

I think the Habs got the better end of this deal. Tanguay had an off year, but he is still a great player capable of scoring 25 goals in a season. Good pickup for the Habs.

Yeah it could be a good move or not. Giving up a first rounder for a 18 goal scorer in 07-08? It's a risk I think the Canadiens can take at this point. If they are serious about Sundin right now they've got enough to sign their RFAs too, including Gorges and Kostitsyn. But it'll be tight.

5.25 million for a struggling left wing with one year on his contract? he's a playmaker not a scorer. granted he has great playoff experience, but he's not an impact player.
