There are many players that do well during the season. Most of these players are expected to do well, since they are early rounders or they were major contributors to their team the previous season. So on, these players are not considered break-out players, because they have high expectations.
A break-out player is someone that has emerged from under the radar or wasn't expected to make the team months ago. So, Vince Young wouldn't be considered a break-out player despite making a comeback in his career and leading a 0-6 Titans team lead by Collins to a current 7-7 record with playoff hopes. An example of a break-out player is Kurt Warner in 1999. He wasn't expected to play well and he had no experience starting in the NFL. His season was capped off with a MVP award, the first player since Marino to throw 41 touchdown passes and a super bowl ring.
These break-out players that are going to be shown may not have a pro-bowl berth, but they make a great impact on their team

Bruce Gradkowski

In the previous years the Raiders offense have been a joke and since 2006, they have been near dead last in offensive categories. Last year, they were ranked 29 in both points and total offensive yards per game. This year they are ranked second last in both categories.
The main reason that the offense has been mediocre these two past years is Jamarcus Russell. Last year, he only threw 13 touchdowns on 2423 yards while completing 53.8% of his passes. Coming into this season, he was expected to work hard, but his performance has regressed in all areas. He came overweight to training camp and he has the worst footwork for a quarterback, this was shown in the preseason against the 49ers when he sacked himself, because of his footwork. This season he only has 2 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions while completing 48% of his passes. So on, his QB rating is 47 and at one time it was lower than 40. He did all of this in 9 starts. Since all of this mediocrity happened, he had to get pulled out and the Raiders needed to find another quarterback for the future. His name is Bruce Gradkowski.
First of all, his record as a starter this year is 2-2 while leading the Raiders to an upset win against the defending superbowl champion Steelers and the upstart Bengals. The main ability of his break-out year is that he is a more mobile quarterback than Russell and he knows how to win games, not lose them. So on. his stats lie since he completes 54.3% of his passes for 1007 yards and he has six touchdowns in four starts. In order to see his ability. you need to watch him on film. Gradkowski may not be flashy, but he leads his teams to victorys and if you don't believe it then look what happened in the Redskins game when he got hurt.

Miles Austin

The Cowboys offense has been above average for years and their quarterback Tony Romo has been a two time pro-bowler. In previous years, a major factor for Romo's success has been Terrell Owens being his main wide receiver. Terrell Owens is one of the greatest wide receivers of all time and last season he had 1052 receiving yards and 10 receiving touchdowns. The season before, he had 1355 receiving yards and 15 receiving touchdowns. When Terrell Owens was waived from the Cowboys, Roy Williams was expected to be Romo's new target. This season, things didn't go as expected for Williams and a new receiver was discovered when the Cowboys played the Chiefs in week 5, it was Miles Austin.
Miles Austin had 250 receiving yards on 10 receptions and he was the hero with the game winning touchdown. Before this game, he had previously started no games in his career and he had less than 400 receiving yards in three of his first years. Also, before he started before the Chiefs he had less than 100 receiving yards in 4 games. So on, after this game, he currently has 1138 receiving yards on 65 receptions and he has 11 receiving touchdowns. These stats are better than what Terrell Owens did last year and what he is doing this year with the Bills. Last of all, he is only 25 ad he is expected to have more seasons like this with the Cowboys and other teams he may be on.

Antwan Odom

This year the Bengals defense have been a top and reliable defense in the league. Their defense is second in points allowed per game and fifth in total yards allowed per game. A big contributor to this was Antwan Odom before he had a season ending injury against the Texans.
Antwan Odom was an average defensive end in the league and his best sack total was 8 in a full season with the Titans. This season he had 8 sacks in six games and he was a good outside container with 18 solo tackles. So on, he had a five sack performance against the Packers and most NFL annalists were choosing him to go to the pro-bowl. Last season, he had a measly three sacks in 12 games and he was an inconsistent starter his whole career. Last of all, Odom may have been injured, but during the time he was active, he was a top defensive end and a league leader in sacks.
