Winnipeg Blue Bombers Fire Mike Kelly

It is the end of the Mike Kelly era in Winnipeg.

Kelly, who had spent only one season as head coach of the Bombers, was relieved of his duties today following a season in which his team finished with a record of 7-11.

The move coincides with Kelly's arrest earlier in the day. The Winnipeg Free Press reported that Kelly was arrested in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania and was charged with assault and harassment following a domestic dispute. The report also indicated that Kelly's former girlfriend Andrea Peterson was involved.

There has been no word on whether or not the arrest led to Kelly's firing.

Kelly, a former offensive coordinator for the Bombers, came into the season with a lot of coaching experience under his belt. Unfortunately, this experience did not lead the Bombers to success.
