This just in major Canadian sports station The Score have reached a deal with ZUFFA to air World Extreme Cagefighting. The deal is going to be at least for seven cards and this really is a huge step for MMA being legalized throughout Canada.

More on that later, but first let's try to break down this deal. That was first announced on "Red Heat" a show on The Score's Hardcore Sports Radio which is channel 98 on Sirius Satellite Radio.

When the Host of the show Cam Stewart was joined by fellow Score employee Sid Seixero, who announced the deal.

The deal is set to kick off on the first WEC card of the new year, which will be Jan. 10 at 9 p.m. Eastern. Which features some good fighters including the main event which has Ben Henderson face off against Jamie Varner.

This is a huge deal and is a big step forward for MMA being legalized throughout Canada. Let's not forget that earlier in the day Council members agreed to have a trial run for MMA events to be held in Vancouver.

We can now witness the virus (in a good way) that is MMA spread through Canada's veins. One can only hope that this is a good enough base for MMA to plant its roots deep into Canada and branch out throughout this great country.
