Lackey To Boston
It appears that, according to SI, John Lackey is heading to the Boston Red Soxs. It is predicted that Lackey will receive a little more than what the Yankees gave A.J. Burnett last winter, which was about $82.5 million.

With the top pitcher off the market, what are the two New York baseball teams going to do now? The Yankees, now, are probably going to go for a back of the rotation starter in Ben Sheets or Justin Duchscherer. If they are able to get one of these guy cheap, to counter the Red Soxs, the Yankees might opt to sign Matt Holliday to play left field or right field, sign Johnny Damon to play left field and DH. Oh what a Yankees lineup that would be! Now for the Mets: With John Lackey gone and Roy Halladay on his way out of Toronto, the New York Mets have very few options left. Most likely, they will dig deep down in their pockets and sign Jason Bay to play left field. Honestly, with all the names the Mets were linked to gone, I think this would be all the Mets would do the off season. I would be very surprised if they did anything different then what I just said.

Tomorrow: Roy Halladay involved in a 3 team trade with Philly and the M's?
