By Derek Lofland.

Last week I promised improvement on my record, and I delivered, by taking an 8-8 Week 13 mark to 12-4 in Week 14. That improves my season record to 137-71.

ESPN.com also does a Weekly Pick’em. Their worst picker this season has been Eric Allen at 135-73. Their best picker has been Merril Hoge at 142-66. I am right in the hunt and will need to finish strong to outpick the ESPN team.

1) Dallas Cowboys (8-5) at New Orleans Saints (13-0)

Dallas has gone from a Sure Bet to Good Position, and one more loss could put them right on the playoff bubble, depending on what the other teams in the NFC do this Sunday. Does this surprise anyone? This is what Dallas does every year, and I cannot pick Dallas in this spot; this team chokes every December.

New Orleans is a different team at home, and QB Drew Brees seems to rise to the occasion in these games. I look for the New Orleans offense to give a great performance and all but clinch home field throughout the NFC playoffs.

Winner: New Orleans
