The 2010 NFL Mock Draft (1st Round) Picks 11-21
Good day to all readers. Today I will be writting my first mock draft article of the year. With the draft 4 months untill the draft I thought It will be a good time to start on the Mock Draft articles. If you do not agree with my pick selections I want you to leave me a comment with your opinions. The next few months are going to be fun with the twist and turns that come before the 2010 NFL Draft.
11) Houstan Texans: Taylor Mays, DB, USC
with the 11th pick in the NFL pick the Texans will select a Defensive Back to go along with Dunta Robinson. So I believe that they will select Taylor Mays.
12) Pittsburgh Steelers: Earl Thomas, S, Texas
Safety will be a big need for the Steelers this offseason. Both Ryan Clark (30) and Tyrone Carter (34) will be free agents in March, so Pittsburgh will need a new starter across from Troy Polamalu and some depth as well.
13) San Francisco 49ers: Ras-I Dowling, DB, Virginia
With their second pick in the first round the up and coming (ers will select a Defensive Back in order to fill one of their last holes in the team.
14) Denver Broncos ( from the Bears): Brandon Spikes
Andra Davis was playing on an extremely high level at the beginning of the year, but has worn down a bit as the season has gone on. Davis will be 31 soon, so there's no telling how long he'll be effective.
Brandon Spikes is one of the top players in this class. He could be a dynamic force in Denver's defense for the next decade.
15) Tennessee Titans: Derrick Morgan, DT, Georgia Tech
with the lost of Albert Haynesworth last off-seasonn the titans will look to get a DT and Morgan is a Haynesworth type player.
16) New York Jets: Terrence Cody, CB, Alabama
3-4 nose tackles like Cody are virtually impossible to find, The Jets have a Pro Bowl nose guard in Kris Jenkins, but he is 30-years-old and coming off a torn ACL. Cody could be Rex Ryan's next Haloti Ngata.
17) Atlanta Falcons: Greg Hardy, DE, Ole Miss
The Falcons can't apply pressure on the quarterback. They have just 23 sacks on the year, and they couldn't even get to Jake Delhomme a single time in their 28-19 loss to Carolina.
Travis Lewis and Sean Weatherspoon are options, but getting someone like Greg Hardy or Derrick Morgan to bolster the defensive line is something the Falcons won't be able to pass
18) Jacksonville Jaguars: Tim Tebow, QB, Florida
This selection simply makes all the sense in the world because Tebow is an iconic figure in Florida, and thousands of people would go to every Jaguars game just to see him.
19) Miami Dolphins: Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
Who better then the second bright spot of the Irishes season, Golden Tate to be the first receiver taken in the draft. Just imagine the Miami receiving core with Ginn and Tate.
20) Baltimore Ravens: Dez Bryant, WR, Oklahoma State
Mark Clayton has been so inconsistent that he's forcing my hand. If Derrick Mason retires, Joe Flacco will have absolutely no one to work with. He would be the 1st receiver taken but due to his lack of play he is the second.
21) New York Giants: C.J. Spiller, RB, Clemson
C.J. Spiller really put on a show against Georgia Tech this past weekend. He's perhaps the most dynamic offensive talent in this class, capable of going the distance at any moment.
Brandon Jacobs' decline is alarming, and Ahmad Bradshaw will be a free agent following the 2010 season. Running back is definitely not a present need, but how can you pass up on such an incredible home-run threat?
