New York Yankees Finally Wake Up

The Yankees have finally came out of their coma in which they were in for a while.

The Bronx Bombers have had three straight series sweeps after they beat the Padres this afternoon.This is the longest winning streak they have had all season long (7 games).

A-Rod has also been extremely hot. Prior to today, he hit a homer in four consecutive games. That's his longest streak since 2007.

The Yankees are still in third place in the AL East, and are now only five games back from their long time hated rival, the Boston Red Sox.

As I said in one of my previous articles that the Yankees will be in first place after the all-star break. Well, that just might happen before they even reach the half-way mark.

Joba Chamberlain was on the mound today, and he struck out nine players and only gave up the 1 ER. He ended up getting his fourth career no decision in just his fourth career start. He seems to be getting a hell of a lot better each time he's on the mound. At times he struggles, but he seems to get out of it without getting himself in trouble.

Jason Giambi has been on fire since he started growing that stach. I believe he will keep it for quite a while. He might even keep it for the rest of the season as long as he doesn't get cold.
