The San Antonio Spurs showed signs of cohesiveness after picking up their third straight with a 115-90 win over the Los Angeles Clippers Sunday night in L.A. Folks here in San Antonio were getting a little concerned after the slow start this season. But the black and silver looked good last night, displaying consistency with rebounding, going 11 of 20 from behind the three point line and most importantly fewer turnovers than in previous games. Six of the Spurs scored in double figures, led by Tim Duncan's 21 points. He might have scored more, but had to leave the game after accidentally receiving an elbow to his head by a teammate. Fortunately, San Antonio had a commanding lead in the fourth quarter, allowing Timmy as well as Tony to get some much needed rest before their next game against the Suns in Phoenix. Rookie DeJuan Blair had a good night, scoring 14 points and yanking down 9 boards. He gave the Spurs a brief scare when after falling hard on the floor during a lay up attempt. He left the game to get checked out by team trainers. Manu Ginobili and Richard Jefferson contributed 17 points, while George Hill hit 11 off the bench and Tony Parker rounded out the double digit scoring with 10 points as wife Eva watched from the stands. Point guard Baron Davis led the Clippers with 20 points and 6 assists, dispite suffering from an upset stomach. The Spurs (12-9) will have their work cut out for them tomorrow night as they take on the Phoenix Suns. They've had trouble against teams with winning records this season. The Clippers (9-13) hope to rebound and pick up a win over the visiting Washington Wizards tonight at the Staples Center.
