Well, here it is, the day before the 2008 NHL Entry Draft: Alan Bass’ mock draft. This mock draft has been thought out for a few weeks now, and I have included trades that may very well happen on draft day. I have never been so excited for a draft before, and I am greatly looking forward to it.

2. Los Angeles Kings
Drew Doughty, D, Guelph, OHL
3. Atlanta Thrashers
Zach Bogosian, D, Peterborough, OHL
4. St. Louis Blues
Alex Pietrangelo, D, Niagara, OHL
5. New York Islanders
Luke Schenn, D, Kelowna, WHL
6. Columbus Blue Jackets
Nikita Filatov, LW, Central Army, Russia
7. Toronto Maple Leafs

Stefanovich is going so high at No. 21? Wow, that's interesting. He's ranked to go at the end of the second round at the earliest and the start of the third round at the latest.
David Toews to Montreal, I like that. Jared Staal at 29 is a surprise too.

Yeah, I feel like Stefanovich is going to surprise people by going in the late first round. He is a great player

I like Schenn a lot...probably the best shutdown dman on the Isles but I have a hard time with them passing up on Boedker or Filatov

Whatever team gets Drew Doughty will have a great d-man. If LA gets him, imagine Johnson, Blake, Visnovsky, Doughty. Pretty potent blueline.

Washington should trade for the #2 pick and pluck Doughty to play with Karl Alzner. Imagine that duo on the Caps' blueline for the next decade.
This is all in Alex Ovechkin's fantasy world, of course.

that would be amazing, but i don't think they will be able to get a trade made that would be able to get that valuable pick
