Zo'e TribeRandom question, I know … but last night as my peeps and I were waiting for the slaughter in Bahston to start we were watching a show on the migration of the Zo’e Tribe on one of the HD channels.

The Zo’e are a native tribe in the State of Pará, Municipality of Obidos, on the Cuminapanema River, Brazil. Anything from nature in HD is entertaining, so we actually spent about 45 minutes with these people of the jungle. As you can see from the picture, the Zo’e have a big ass stick or plug thing they stick in their bottom lip, the size of which is relative to age.

At one point a young kid, probably about 12 or 13, free climbed an 80-foot tree to poke a bee hive with a stick in hope of getting some honey.

After a few days of eating only nuts, berries, and what not they went hunting and killed a pretty good sized monkey with a bow and arrow.

Which leads us to my question … if given the opportunity, would you eat a monkey? Not if you were some Brazillian tribesman who relied on said monkey for survival, but as you are today … could you do it? The three of us in the room last night said ‘no.’* The DNA just seems a little too close. I mean, there are times when you see a monkey’s eyes and there seems to be a little more going on back there than in the rest of the animal kingdom.

*Of course this was after I had deposited some sort of curry chicken bomb into my gullet, so I probably would have said no to anything except some Ben and Jerry’s…
