Yes it will happen. According to SI.com, Milka Duno will join fellow IndyCar series driver Danica Patrick at next week's ARCA test at Daytona International Speedway.
Duno will drive a stock car for the first time at the test, a Toyota owned by Braun Racing, the most successful independent team in the Nationwide Series. Todd Braun noted that if Duno has any interest in NASCAR, then the ARCA test would be the best place to start. He gave no indication whether he would field a car for Duno in an ARCA or NASCAR event.
Here's some background on Milka Duno: She was born April 22, 1972 in Caracas, Venezuela. She has attracted attention worldwide for her racing talent and educational background. In 2000, she was named the Venezuelan Auto Racing Driver of the Year.
Duno's path to being a successful female racer was far from typical. In 1998, Duno was invited by a friend to participate in a Porsche Driving Clinic. The rest, as they say - is history. In 2007, Milka scored a second-place finish in the 24 Hours At Daytona - earning the highest finish ever by a female driver in the 45-year history of the race. She also made history by becoming the first Latina to qualify and race in the Indianapolis 500.
She's no Danica Patrick, who finished 3rd in this year's Indy 500 and 5th in the points, but she has the talent all her own that could possibly be good for NASCAR's Nationwide Series.
