With Marquise Daniels undergoing surgery for his swollen left thumb he switches places with Tony Allen coming back off the DL with his surgically repaired ankle.  Will this be a problem for the new look C’s bench? In a word, no.

I like Tony (maybe I’m the only fan that does) and when you look closely at the numbers there isn’t a huge difference in game contribution between the two players.  Allen gives up two inches in height to Daniels but at the shooting guard position it really isn’t that much of a disparity.

So far this season Daniels has been averaging 5.7 PPG, 2 APG and 2 RPG. The 5.7 is slightly down from the 9.3 for his career but keep in mind he was playing for a mediocre Pacers team that had a revolving starting five for a while.

TA on the other hand has only played in two games thus far (4 minutes in his first game back) and has contributed 4PG, 1 APG, 2RPG and 1 STL.  Both players can contribute to the offense when called upon though playing with the second unit, usually the scoring chances get deferred to Eddie House or the current starter that Doc usually keeps in during his rotations.
