After a month of keeping mum, Cristiano Ronaldo breaks silence on his future.
The Manchester United winger is being courted by Real Madrid, with the Spanish champions rumoured to be preparing a big-money bid for Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored a staggering 42 goals last season for United.
"All I can say is that I can not leave Manchester United without the club's concession" revealed Ronaldo.
"At the last game I already said that I don't want to talk about my future," said Ronaldo
Even though Ronaldo chooses to keep quiet, the lines in bold suggest to me that his future is at Manchester United.
Cristiano Ronaldo's elder brother Hugo, meanwhile, has rubbished all claims suggesting Ronaldo has told close friends that he will move to Madrid.
"I spoke to him and he said he hadn't talked to anyone about what he was going to do after the Euros, he wouldn't promise me or our mother."
Cristiano Ronaldo is confident ahead of Portugal's clash against Germany and chose to pay tribute to Luiz Felipe Scolari (Portugal's coach) who has now been hired as the new Chelsea manager.
"He's a friend and I have a great friendship with him, he has decided on a good future and I think things will go all right for him, he's a great coach and I will always consider him as a friend," said Ronaldo of Scolari.
Manchester United have crushed speculation that Sir Alex Ferguson will walk away if Ronaldo is sold against his will.
An extract from David Gill's statement reads "He's not going anywhere, we know Real Madrid will not stop their antics but we will stand firm on our decision."
I was on the job and took time out to look at the possibilities of Cristiano Ronaldo joining Real Madrid against Manchester United's wishes.
It turns out chances are very bleak, I and Warren Healy from World Sport decided to catch up with Manchester United's spokesperson, Matthew Fillings.
Fillings explained to us that the Glazer Family had sent strong instructions that Cristiano Ronaldo will not be sold to Real Madrid under any circumstances.
"He has a four year contract signed with us, his contract has no buy-out clause, which means it is up to the club's management to decide whether they are to accept a bid or reject it" explained Fillings.
"He can take the club to the court if it comes to the worst but we stand on solid ground because we have a legal contract signed with the player for more than one year and he is a foreign player, which means he has to abide by the laws of the Premier League" revealed Fillings.
"I personally don't think he will do anything more than handing in a transfer request to the club," concluded Fillings.
We were unable to get the view of Premier League's Richard Scudamore on the matter but I think we have made ground breaking progress into knowing the future of Cristiano Ronaldo.

Thanks,Jake..
United have said they don't want to loose a match winner..43 goals last season..fair enough though if he's playing against his will he wont play at full potential..If it happens Ramos and Robinho as trade would be a fine bargain.

Let me start by advising him that he should'nt forget people like Beckham of England, Ronaldo of Brazil, and thier untimely silient in football world.

Fair enough mate..I think your saying that if he goes to Real Madrid his career will decline like Beckham and Ronaldo..

Well if he is leaving it up to United, well then he wont be going far. If he doesn't hand in a transfer request Im sure United will expect him to be donning the red jersey again next season...
Thanks for the update Salaar.

I think he'll stay at Manchester United because they won't want him to leave and he has a stable career there...but honestly the guy seems lost!

He says he cant go without heir permission but is he seeking permission. It could just be a way of saying im gonna ask and if they say no, we'll see.

If he wants to go, he'll go - nobody can stop him. He seems to be saying "I want to go, but if Man Utd want me to stay, I'll have to do that won't I?" - which is a bad position for Man Utd to put itself in.. he seems to want to go, just let him go.. no player is bigger than the club.

Haha..Wouldn't all Arsenal Fans love that happening..
from 3 months ago
I didn't mean that as an Arsenal fan.. just as a football fan in general - we've had that problem for awhile now no player is bigger than the club.. whether he's Ronaldo or Fabregas - they can all be replaced one way or the other.

Great read! Ronaldo is a very legit player!

These are the words of every football on this issue - ' If he wants to go, let him go'. Why on earth would you keep a player that doesnt want to stay.? Would anyone keep their girlfriend if you know she doesn't want you? Its simple really... LET THE BLODDY PLAYER GO....

Hahaha..Comical..The thing is he is not coming out and saying if he wants to stay or go...stupid reports about telling imaginary friends don't count..he has to speak his mind...All he is saying is "After the euros,my future after the euros".
The Trademark Ronaldo comment
"The Future no one knows".

Salaar that sounds more like yoda, lol!

I read it the same as Shyam and Salomon (funny how Arsenal, Chelsea, and now Liverpool, all see it the same way!)
He seems to be suggesting that he can only go if Man Utd agree, well that is good as saying he wants to go. What we don't know is how will react if they don't let him go, that it seems, is for the future.
There is still a long way to run in this story, reminiscent of the 'will he won't he' Gerrard saga from a couple of years back that lasted the whole summer. Many Man Utd were lapping that up, so forgive me for not having too much sympathy with them at the moment.

Fair enough...but I still feel the line..."All I can say is that I can not leave Manchester United without the club's concession",can be interpreted in one way or another.

Well after that shite today ManU should grab the money and let the media made ordinary loser go on his way.
Best in the world ...haha hehe ho ho...what a loser.
Ronaldo (the real one...the phenomenon) faced the same Close and Bollocks and made them look about as ordinary as Cristiano did today.

United would be crazy not to cash in on Ronaldo now.
They may be technically able to force him to stay, but that would be stupid. His heart is clearly not in it any more and why would it be? He's won every trophy available to top English Clubs with United and as a professional with no emotional loyalty to Manchester, why is it shocking that he wants a new challenge?
Let's face it, we all hoped United would collapse after Cantona left, then it was Keane, then Van Nistlerooy. They didn't, and the departure of Ronaldo will be no different.
There's only one departure from Old Toilet that would truely damage United and that's old gout face Taggart. Much as I hate to admit it, he's the only one that is really irreplacable.

The Old Toilet...a little too Anti-Man Utd are we mate?
from 3 months ago
There's no such thing as being TOO anti Man Utd!
The banter and name calling is all just in jest and Manure fans give it just as much as they get it.

Well done Sherlock. Did my avatar give it away?
Actually, I'm Irish, but somehow I suspect you're not from anywhere close to Salford yourself.
BTW - How do you think Aaron Ramsey will do at United next season? LMFAO!!
No it didn't...arrogance didn't..Aaron Ramsey apparently changed his mind to go to Arsenal..fare him well.
Good to see you take it in good faith..
Cheers mate, fair enough..Liverpool fans will obviously want Ronaldo to go to Real Madrid and beside that you may have a point..Sir Alex is perhaps is irreplaceble..
I don't really care if he goes to Real Madrid or not, because as I said, recent history shows us that SAF will just replace him with another genius player. The only way LFC are going to close the gap with United is to keep improving and not worry about who's playing for your lot.
I just think that, objectively, it makes sense for all concerned for Ronaldo to move on.
As for arrogance, well seriously dude, no United fan can lecture ANYBODY about arrogance.
from 3 months ago
Fair enough..SAF has the ability of getting the best out of all his players..Obviously,you have your view and I respect your opinion..
As for Arrogance..well lets keep it as it is..United won two titles...so if United fans celebrate they become arrogant to the rest of the world..
in 2005..liverpool won the UCL..they celebrated and they were considered arrogant..I'll spare myself hoping you understand my point..
Anyways...Cheers..
There's nothing arrogant about celebrating victory, however, Liverpool won the UCL in 2005 and mean-spiririted arrogant United fans sought to belittle that achievement at every opportunity. THAT's arrogance.
United fans are arrogant whether they win or lose. They are the Ghengis Khan of football. "It's not enough that I succeed, everyone else must fail". There's only one thing worse in life than a bad loser and that's a bad winner. United are the epitomy of bad winnners.
That's why most other fans hate them.
Anyway...Cheers!!!
