Now, as I am sure almost every sports fan has heard about Don Imus calling a woman's basketball team derogatory terms.
"That's some nappy-headed hos there. I'm gonna tell you that now, man, that's some—woo. And the girls from Tennessee, they all look cute, you know, so, like—kinda like—I don't know."
Now, I thought after all the trouble he got in from that and how publicised it was, that hopefully it would have some effect on people using those terms.
I just tuned to TNT to watch the Celtics-Magic game and, lo and behold, it is pre-game chat between the guys at the desk. There's Charles Barkley, smiling and happy as can be. They start talking about Tim Donaghy and cheating and Rasheed Wallace is brought up. Immediately Barkely attacks his game style and how he acts on the field and goes onto to use this following term.
"He should get a technical for having that nappy ass hair"
Now I ask you this...is this racist? If Imus got in trouble so should Barkely.
