Five Teams That Will Court Michael Vick in 2010

Okay, so we finally saw what all the fuss was about.

Perhaps we jumped the gun a bit when many of us declared that Vick was a free agent bust. Hell, he still may be, but what he did last week suggested there is at least a chance that he still has something left.

God knows he has something to prove.

Regardless of what he had done or what he will do, Vick is almost certainly to be playing elsewhere next year. But where?

Here's a quick glance at five teams that could use a veteran quarterback in 2010, regardless of what young passer they draft in April.

Buffalo Bills: Puttin' on the Fitz?

Trent Edwards isn't their franchise quarterback. Come to think of it, he probably won't ever be anyone's franchise quarterback.

I like what I've seen out of Ryan Fitzpatrick, but let's be honest, the Bills could use an upgrade and would only be doing themselves a grand disservice if they didn't bring a talent like Vick in, as well as upgrade through the draft.

If Buffalo brings back T.O., this could become even more likely.

Washington Redskins: Sippin' on Some Campbell Soup?

You have to admit, what we've seen from Jason Campbell lately is, well, inspiring.

Then again, we've been here before. The guy is big, has a strong arm, and every year has shown glimpses of being able to take it to the next level. Then he regresses, picks it back up, and regresses again.

Plain and simple: The guy is inconsistent as hell, and he isn't their franchise quarterback.

Neither is Colt Brennan, Todd Collins, Chase Daniel, or any of these other scrubs the 'Skins have been teasing us with the past few years.

While Campbell has been doing the "inconsistent shuffle" for the past three years, Aaron Rodgers (also drafted in 2005) has been growing into an elite passer.

Vick may not be their top target, but after they secure an elite quarterback prospect in the draft, like they should have last year, they'll need a quality veteran to keep things afloat.

I mean, Dan Snyder still owns this team, right?

Minnesota Vikings: To Retire or Not to Retire

Brett Favre is playing the best football of his career, and as long as he doesn't have another late-season collapse, there's a good chance he makes a run at an even better season in 2010.

However, there's also just as good a chance that he does finally give it up and give way to, er, Tarvaris Jackson?

If the Vikes suddenly feel comfortable with a running quarterback running the show, odds are they'll take another dive into free agency and give the more qualified Vick a look first.

Don't think so? If they turned to a 40-year-old over their current top two passers, what makes you think they'll go right back to them again?

Personally, I feel Favre will come back and fulfill his contract. But if he doesn't, this could easily be Vick's new home in 2010.

Carolina Panthers: Jake's Going Delhomme

93608401

Jake Delhomme is done, and Matt Moore, Josh McCown, or A.J. Feeley is not the answer.

If Jon Fox is still around in 2010 and is as smart as I think he is, he'll bring in a qualified veteran who can manage a run-first offense, and he will also draft a top prospect.

Vick may not necessarily be best suited to play outdoors, but he definitely gives the Panthers something they're lacking: a chip on the ol' shoulder, a cannon arm, and the ability to change a game from the quarterback position.

Vick has value whether fans like it or not, and the Panthers are in need of an upgrade—desperately.

Seattle Seahawks: Jim Mora and Vick Reunion?

93872247

This is a strong possibility. Matt Hasselbeck is aging and can't protect himself behind a shoddy offensive line, and it's causing what could be a very potent offense to go to waste.

Mora knows Vick and what he can do, and while things didn't end the best when they were together in Atlanta, it still helps in the NFL when you can pair up with talented players that you know.

Seattle could be a scary team if Vick still has the skills to be a quarterback, and we all know the Seahawks could use a guy who is used to running for his life, rather than absorbing hit after hit.

Wild Cards

If none of the previous five options suit your fancy for Vick, there's always the chance the following teams could pitch an offer to him.

Oakland Raiders: Don't put anything past Al Davis.

St. Louis Rams: They'll be drafting a young quarterback, and they can't afford to go back to Marc Bulger or Kyle Boller again.
