AS Roma have signed Norway defender John Arne Riise from Liverpool for £4 million.
Riise has been signed on a four-year deal during which he will earn upto £2.2 million.
Roma, who will play in the Champions League next season, have been targeting Riise for some time.
He had also been chased by Premier League clubs Aston Villa and Manchester City.
Riise's arrival in Rome could be the signal for the imminent departure of Amantino Mancini, who is wanted by both Liverpool and Inter Milan.
Riise primarily played for Liverpool as a left back, a position which Fabio Aurelio will be manning. Liverpool are also hopeful of completing the signing of Andrea Dossena from Udinese.
The Reds recently signed Philip Degen as their first signing of the summer and earlier released Harry Kewell.
