In their last game before the regular season, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers will face the Montreal Alouettes at Canad Inns Stadium in Winnipeg, Manitoba at 7:00pm (ET). The Alouettes were winless against the Bombers last season, including the Bombers 24-22 win, which will haunt the Alouettes for a long time.

Montreal coach Jim Popp made a dangerous but potentially winning decision with only minutes left in the fourth quarter. It was third down with one yard to go, and Popp told QB Marcus Brady to go for a quarterback sneak. Brady was stopped by Barrin Simpson, who had made a third down stop earlier in the game at the one yard line.

This mistake would put the Blue Bombers in great field position, and after three plays resulting in a 24 yard gain by RB Charles Roberts, the Bombers were in perfect position for the game winning field goal. So with the clock dead at 0:00, waiting for the last play of the game to be completed, former kicker Troy Westwood booted in the game winning kick, sending the Bombers to the conference finals and later to the Grey Cup, where they lost to the Saskatchewan with backup QB Ryan Dinwiddie.

Montreal will look for some payback for the Bombers on Thursday night in Winnipeg. Unfortunatley for them, or maybe fortunatley, Troy Westwood was released on Sunday by the Bombers.
