Finally Arsenal fans can breathe: the prolonged speculation as to Samir Nasri's destination has come to an end.

The signing was supposed to take place before the start of the Euro 2008 tournament but was put off due to some "wage difficulties". Further problems seemed to dent Arsenal's chances of signing the "the new Zinedine Zidane", as Athletico Madrid joined the race for the Frenchman.

However, Arsenal have emerged on top and won the race (more like a marathon) and Arsene Wenger can now claim signing number two.

The 20 year old french midfielder has reportedly signed a four year contract at the Emirates according to the BBC and various sources. With France knocked out of the European Championship, a formal statement is expected to be released within the coming days.

Things are beginning to take a beautiful shape for Arsenal already and all I can say is, Welcome Home Samir!
