AF1's Tennessee Valley Vipers Change Moniker, Unveil New Logo
The Tennessee Valley Vipers are no more.
No, the team is not folding. They have changed their name and logo along with their league for this season.
As a founding member of the newly formed Arena Football 1 league, the Vipers have turned "Tennessee Valley" into "Alabama."
The new logo and viper design will be sure to sell a little more merchandise this season and ticket sales should spike with the new league.
The AF1 has won an assets bid of the old Arena Football League and will play in 2010 with all of the assets the AFL had incurred over the last 23 years.
This includes team names. The Tampa Bay Storm, Arizona Rattlers, Orlando Predators, and Utah Blaze will all play in the upcoming season.
Other former AFL franchises, such as Dallas and Chicago, are also in the league, but have not introduced a team name as of yet.
It is also expected that the Cleveland Gladiators will join the AF1 as early as today.
The AF1 will begin play in the Spring of 2010.
