As the January transfer window approaches, Arsene Wenger begins weighing up the options of which striker to impose on. But should the Frenchman also be seeking a goalkeeper option?

Arsenal goalkeepers haven't exactly been top notch. At the start of the season, poor keeping meant first choice keeper Manuel Almunia saw his spot replaced by Vito Mannone. Despite the Italian performing outstandingly against Fulham, the 21 year old did, at times, cost Arsenal points.

Whilst Lukas Fabianski, Arsenal's second choice keeper, hasn't received the greatest opportunity due to constant injury, and promising teenager Wojciech Sczesny is too young. Is a goalkeeper needed?

Manuel Almunia has stated he is back to his best confidence and performance-wise, and very few mistakes should occur from now on. Plus, potential is brewing in Vito Mannone, and Lukas Fabianski is easily capable of becoming a great first choice keeper.

Many fans feel Arsenal lacks a goalkeeping squad that the likes of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool have, and also feel Manuel Almunia's earlier season mistakes were the last straw.

There are many impressive keepers around, but could Arsene Wenger persuade one to come to the Emirates? However, the keepers Wenger has at hand, I feel, are heavily underrated and capable performers.

However, many may disagree. Does Arsenal need to look for a keeper in January?
