Micah Hatchie, 6'5" 285lb, OT from Waialua High School in Waialua, HI., has agreed to to play with the University of Washingto Huskies. Hatchie is a 4-star recruit and has a position rank of 25th in the nation.
Head Coach Steve Sarkisian has started the second season off with a big bang, snaring his second 4-star recruit in as many days. Today's commitment by Micah Hatchie moves the Huskies into 8th in the nation in Team rankings, published by Scout.com.
When Hatchie took his official to Washington, on November 28, 2009, he fell in love with everything he saw at Montlake as reported by Dawgman.com. The Huskies were playing cross state rival WSU Cougars during his visit.
In a statement to Dawgman.com, Hatchie said, ""The game was intense," he said of the Huskies' 30-0 win over the Cougars. "Just how it was played and the crowd. It was packed last night. I've never seen a crowd like that before."
Hatchie also commented on how the coaches keep track of there players. Checking up on them daily and making sure they are doing well in classes.
Hatchie was also being recruited by California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA and UTAH.
With the commitment of Hatchie and the commitment of 6'5", 285 lb Erik Kohler of Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, CA, Steve Sarkisian is setting the table for the re-emergence of the University of Washington football program.
It would seem that Sarkisian has awakened this sleeping giant of Division 1 college football.
