Blocked punts, last-second field goals, ghastly interceptions and a hate-squad against your coach are just a few reasons why our Top 10 of 'The Most Disappointing Teams in 2009' have gotten where they are.

They shouldn't be proud. Everyone of them gets one thing from its rival and one thing from its fans. From its rivals? Laughter, mixed with celebration. From its fans? The finger.

No 10: Florida Gators

94025535

Florida was the consensus pick to win the national title this year. In August 2009, it was over by the shouting. Except the shouting was 14 weeks, in which Florida really wasn't that great for a vast majority of them, except for games against cupcakes.

Sorry Urban, you're number 10.

No.9: Ole Miss Rebels

91807174

So how did the Rebels do this season?

Well, they beat LSU. And they lost to Auburn, South Carolina and they had the floor wiped with them by Mississippi State. They also lost to Alabama, but never looked great. 8-4 was what they deserved. This is why (sometimes) bowl tie-ins suck: They shouldn't be in a high New Year's Day Bowl.

No. 8: Oklahoma State Cowboys

92588341

At the start of the year, we were potentially talking about Oklahoma State beating all and sundry, setting up a monster game against Texas.

It didn't happen.

OSU lost to Houston, and the season basically went to the wall. The Dez Bryant case didn't help either...

No. 7: Kansas Jayhawks

93940446

Not the world's best season for Mark Mangino, was it?

No.6: Michigan Wolverines

93287793

After going 4-0, we thought Michigan was back. And you know what? We were wrong.

So why did Michigan suck? Four reasons: Rich Rodriguez, Tate Forcier, an awful defense, and a lack of experience.

And if they aren't better in 2010, add a "pink slip" to the name "Rich Rodriguez."
Which, of course, will make Ohio State and Penn State fans across the land exceptionally unhappy.

The Nittany Lions and Buckeyes are 4-0 against him, after all.

No.5: Penn State Nittany Lions

92710356

Despite being favored in all 12 games this year, Penn State didn't play well in 90 percent of them. While they "did the job" with a cathartic road-win over MIchigan, the home losses to Iowa and Ohio State—where they were comprehensively outplayed—were truly dreadful.

No. 4: Illinois Fighting Illini

91180971

If Ron Zook coaches after this year's brutal 3-9 season, it'll be a miracle.

No.3: Notre Dame Fighting Irish

93470887

The bruise in a South Bend bar to Jimmy Clausen's face after Notre Dame's loss to Connecticut wasn't happy, and really, "JC" shouldn't have abuse from fans of Touchdown Jesus. He was the most impressive part of a season that was better-known for stunning losses and the Charlie Weis hate bandwagon.
Next year won't be lovely either, but in 2011 they might well be back.

But then again, didn't we say that in 2008?

No. 2: Georgia Bulldogs

91732077

If you really want some awful video, just YouTube any of Georgia's defensive moments. Yes, the season was just that bad.

No.1: USC

94026084

If USC's dreams of a National Title were torpedoed by Washington, they were nuked by Oregon. The horror shows against Stanford and Arizona were icing on a woeful season's cake.

And to cap it all, at the Arizona game, only around three people were there to see (believe 85,000, you'll believe anything!).
