It's official: The Big East team that the UCF Knights will play in the St. Petersburg Bowl on December 19, 2009 is Rutgers.

The "Bowl by the Bay" as it has been slated, features two teams with an 8-4 record, with the Knights finishing second in Conference USA's East Division and Rutgers tied for fourth in the eight-team Big East Conference.

"So close to our fan base is St. Petersburg," George O'Leary told the press. "It should be a great game for our fans to enjoy next Saturday night."

This will be the third bowl game for the Knights in five years, the other two matchups ending in losses for the black and gold.

For the first time in their bowl history, they will be able to compete in their home state, surely bringing fans from all across Florida to watch.
