Middle Linebacker:

Rey Maualuga, 6'2", 260, Sr.

Recently described as the the scariest defender in college football, Rey Maualaga is a dominant middle linebacker who has been the face of the USC defense since his arrival on campus.  Easily the hardest-hitting player on the defense, Maualaga returned for his senior season after seriously considering leaving for the NFL.

Chris Gallipo, 6'2", 255, Fr.

A highly-touted recruit out of Servite High School, Gallipo suffered a back injury last season which forced him to redshirt.  Chris is a natural football player who is surprisingly athletic.  He highlighted spring practice with interceptions and sacks.  Gallipo will get good playing time behind Maualaga and there should be no loss in quality.

Uona Kaveinga, 6'1", 235, Incoming Freshman

A previous commitment to both UCLA and BYU, Kaveinga committed to USC on signing day after being told he could go on his mission.  A hard-nosed, athletic linebacker, Uona is expected to contribute his freshman season and then leave for his Mormon mission.
