Men's Golf: Tiger Woods Is The Greatest...Almost

Clayton CoffmanAnalyst IJune 17, 2008

What a performance by Tiger Woods.

He hadn't played in over two months and on his return, knee injury and all, Woods won the U.S. Open over Rocco Mediate.

I feel for Rocco, who has never won a major and at 45 years of age, it's unlikely he will win a major championship.

But Tiger's performance, as I said earlier, should go down as one of the greatest victories in sports history.

The ACL surgery he had was painfully obvious during the back nine on Sunday, but it didn't matter. He overcame it.

With 14 majors under his belt, it's only a matter of time before he passes the Golden Bear, Jack Nicklaus.
