Central Florida Football Accepts St. Petersburg Bowl Bid

Going Bowl-ing?

The Knights are, for their third time under the helm of coach George O'Leary. The Bowl will take place on Dec. 19, Saturday, at Tropicana Field, the usual home of the Tampa Bay Rays MLB team.

The Knights will face a team from the Big East conference, although the name of the team hasn't been announced yet.

"We couldn't feel more privileged...to play in this year's St. Petersburg Bowl vs. a prominent Big East opponent," said UCF Athletic Director Keith Tribble.

The Knights are plenty deserving, as they came behind from a slow start this season for a final record of 8-4.

They won six straight games for the sixth-best win total in school history and finished their C-USA record at 6-2, just the second team in league history to finish this way after starting 0-2 in C-USA play.
