Whats up, down in Florida?

The State of Florida lays claim to 10 National Championships since Miami first claimed the 1983 title for the state. Since then a team from the state of Florida has laid claimed to 9 more titles and each of the big 3 teams has played in and lost the National Championship at least once during this time.

And there is still a chance to add one more to that total this season.

For the last thirty years the state of Florida has played a part in directly deciding the National Championship at least half of the time and in-directly countless other times. (see Florida-FSU in the 90's) On top of that throw in a hand full of Heisman's.

So what is it that makes Florida a football giant?

This is not an article but a question that I hope we can answer together below. With out being childish and resorting to slander between schools or states, what is it that you think sets Florida apart from the rest of the states?
