BR:  How long have you been a fan of the Cubs and baseball?

BW:  As long as I can remember.  I am 46 years old, and I remember watching Cubs games on WGN with my Dad since I was little.  So, even though I’ve always lived on the South side, I’ve never been a White Sox fan like most of my friends.  I became a long-suffering Cubs fan courtesy of my father.  He’s 86 now, and I’d really like to see them win this year so he can enjoy it while he’s still here. He can remember listening to the playoff games on the radio while coming home from WWII the last time the Cubs were in the Series, in 1945.

BR:  What other sports/teams do you like watching?

BW:  I’ll watch any baseball team if I have the free time, that’s how much I love baseball.  But I also enjoy football – Da Bears of course – and basketball, although I gravitate more toward college basketball, especially during March Madness.  I used to love going to Blackhawks hockey games at the old Stadium.  And in his prime, I would have paid to watch Greg Maddux pitch.
