Expectations were very high for Oakland Raiders fans this season. The team, once again, has failed to meet them. So what is wrong with the Raiders? Gary Russell, the former Steeler, has said the Raiders have more talent than the defending champions. Yet the Oakland Raiders still cannot win football games, and are constantly picking in the top 10 every year in the draft.

The Raiders have many problems. Let's start with the defensive side of the ball. The Raiders have some very good players, but fail to stop the run and explosive gains. This is because of the linebackers not being able to shed blocks. Man to man defense also has effects on the run game. Raiders players are having to worry about the man they are about to cover, and once they even realize its a run, there is a 5+ yard gain. Also, the Raider' lack of blitzing and putting pressure on the quarterback has been a huge  problem this season. More Zone Blitzes are the answer for this Oakland Raider defense.

Now what about the big pass plays this Oakland Raiders' defense have been giving up as of late? This is simply miscommunication. The Cornerbacks are thinking they have over the top help from the safety but they do not. Also, there are too many times when a linebacker is on a wide reciever. These of course cause big plays. Again, all the Oakland Raider sneed to do is call more zone plays.

Now to the offense. The lack of a strong offensive line is the problem for the run game. They need to get a better push of the snap. The pass game has been a mix of bad passes, dropped passes, and sacks. The Oakland Raiders need a better line so they can establish the run to open up the pass and vise versa.

The coaching has been bad for the Raiders. Too many bad plays called. The scheme must be changed. Both sides of the ball have become predictable.

These are the problems with the Oakland Raiders, and these are just the main ideas. The Raiders need better personell on both sides of the ball and they need better coaches and a new scheme. Thanks for the Read. Please comment! :)
