The three-headed monster of Tyler Sheehan, Freddie Barnes, and Willie Geter struck again, this time with the Toledo Rockets as its victim. Bowling Green advanced to 7-5 overall and 6-2 in conference with its 38-24 win over Toledo.

Tyler Sheehan had a quiet day in comparison to his usual output, only throwing for two touchdowns and 137 yards. Freddie Barnes had nine receptions for 69 yards and two touchdowns, while Willie Geter had 16 carries for 114 yards and three touchdowns. These scoring efforts helped bury any possible Rockets comeback in the second half.

The Falcons have finished their regular season and now await their bowl seating which, at 7-5, should be favorable for them. Their conference record is fourth best amongst MAC teams.

Bowling Green may become the beneficiary to the Big Ten’s inability to fill its eight bowl seeds. Current bowl projections have Bowling Green facing Southern Miss in the Eagle Bank Bowl. Other possible bowl games may include the Pizza Bowl, Humanitarian Bowl, and the St. Petersburg Bowl.

Freddie Barnes is only four receptions short of a bowl subdivision record. He currently has 138 receptions for 1551 yards and 16 touchdowns. He would certainty break this record during whichever bowl game Bowling Green gets into.
