NC State pulled away early on by gaining a double-digit lead within the first five minutes, and they never gave the lead back  but New Orleans did have some fight in them they rallied within ten before half. The Privateers would see their rally go to waste as NC State would started off the second half scoring eleven consecutive points.

Tracy Smith had another strong game for the Wolfpack scoring a game high 20 points with a solid nine rebound and three blocks. This was constant for the wolfpack team as Scott Wood was the only player in the starting line-up with no blocks. C.J. Williams had a season high 12 points, and Javier Gonzalez contributed nicely with 12 points and eight assists with only two turnovers. Richard Howell saw playing time this season for the first time as he scored two points, two rebounds, and one assist in only seven minutes of playing time.

Charles Carmouche  was the leading scorer for New Orleans as he scored 16 points and pulled down 8 bounds.

The Wolfpack are now 5-0 and their next opponent is Northwestern on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.
