It was reported by Yahoo Sports that Nets head coach Lawrence Frank would be fired after returning from their west coast swing. ESPN's Marc Stein is now reporting that Frank has just been fired, and will not coach tonight against the Los Angeles Lakers.

The Nets are on course to set the NBA record for worst start in history. New Jersey is currently 0-16 and face the 12-3 Lakers in the Staples Center tonight. More than likely the Nets will lose tonight and tie the record that was previously set by the Sixers and Heat. After they face the Lakers, the Nets return home to face the Mavericks who are 12-5 and could possibly break the record for worst start.

The Nets will likely be coached by either GM Kiki Vandeweghe or Tom Barrise on an interim basis.
