Bowling Green came out on the losing end of a heart-breaking overtime game, one in which four Falcons starters scored in double figures. Joe Jakubowski led the way with 16, but five other Falcon players were in double figures as well.

Otis Polk had another double-double (13 points and 11 rebounds) and continues to be a presence in the paint for the Falcons who out rebounded the Panthers 40-37. The Falcons shot 46 percent from the field, but struggled from behind the arc going only 33 percent.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee was led by Deonte Roberts’s 17 points and James Eayrs’ 16 points. Lonnie Boga added 11 off the bench for the Panthers. The Panthers shot 44 percent from the field and 34 percent from three point range, hitting crucial shots in the overtime period giving them a 90-83 win on the road.

Bowling Green (1-3) will have to pick up the pieces before Isaiah Thomas’s Florida International Golden Panthers come to play or it will be another ugly loss on the season.

FIU has shown it can handle tough teams giving North Carolina a tough game a few weeks ago by playing stingy defense and hitting free throws. The Falcons will have to play smart and minimize turnovers, something they didn’t do in this loss having 15 to Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s 11.

The game against FIU (2-5) is set for Monday at 7:00 p.m. Bowling Green will have one more home game before going on a five-game road stretch that ends Dec. 30th.
