The Cleveland Browns have had a very bad decade of draft picks since their rebirth in 1999.

Notables like Courtney Brown and Gerrard Warren are only a few of the names of the players the Browns have selected over much more productive All-Pro players.

Once again in the 2009 NFL Draft, the Browns passed over several future All-Pro players the likes of Clay Matthews III and Rey Maualuga.

With the college football regular season coming to a close, the following are several players that would look very good in the orange and brown and hopefully Browns management will take a long hard look at these guys so if they have a chance to draft them, then they will not pass them by too.

In no particular order, here are this journalist's opinion on one player per each position of need for the Browns.

Tony Pike, Quarterback, Cincinnati

93043582

Pike is an ideal physical specimen to become an NFL starter at 6'6" and 225 pounds.

Whether or not the Browns need a quarterback still remains to be seen since Brady Quinn still has six games to prove himself as the Browns' starter, and if he continues to play like he did against the Detroit Lions, then choosing Pike would be out of the question.

Still, Pike has tremendous leadership ability and his arm is strong enough to make any throw to any part of the football field.

With Pike missing four games due to injury, his stock has fallen off a bit and once considered one of the top quarterbacks entering the NFL Draft, Pike is now looking to be a second or third round pick, and quite possibly a steal of the draft due to his athletic abilities and big arm.

2009 College Stats: 65 percent completions, 2,048 yards, 23 touchdowns, three interceptions

Charles Scott, Running Back, LSU

93030522

Scott has seen his production and draft stock drop in 2009 after he had a wonderful 2008 campaign where he rushed for over 1,000 yards.

With current Browns running back, Jamal Lewis, announcing his retirement a few weeks ago, the Browns need to find a big and strong running back who can run between the tackles.

Scott is a very large running back 6'1" and 234 pounds.

Since the Browns already drafted running back James Davis in 2009, they do not need to draft a running back in the first or second round, and it looks like Scott may not get drafted until somewhere in rounds three or four with his collar bone injury, which would be a terrific addition to a Browns team that needs a bruiser.

2009 College Stats: 542 yards, 4.7 yard per carry average, and four touchdowns

Dez Bryant, Wide Receiver, Oklahoma State

90354824

So Bryant will be entering the NFL draft early, but that is understandable since the NCAA would not lift the suspension they put on him.

A receiver in the mold of the Lions' Calvin Johnson, Bryant in a very large athlete at 6'2".

He can easily dictate coverage and would be a compliment to the quick developing Mohamed Massaquoi.

Bryant was able to play in three games in 2009, but he has already stated that due to his suspension, he is beginning to prepare his body for the NFL Combine in 2010.

Whether the Browns want to use their high first round pick on Bryant (because Bryant will get drafted very high despite his suspension), there is no doubt that he is a gifted player but is this just the beginning of more trouble for Bryant down road?

Only time will tell with this high-risk high-reward draft pick.

2009 College Stats: 17 receptions for 323 yards and four touchdowns (played in only three games)

Jermaine Gersham, Tight End, Oklahoma

84117184

Gresham has been sidelined for all of 2009 with a knee injury, which has dramatically influenced his dropping draft stock in 2010.

But one thing is still certain, at 6'6" and 258 pounds, Gersham has the body of a starting NFL tight end and the physical talents to stretch the field too.

With his knee still in question, many teams will probably pass on Gersham in the 2010 NFL Draft, but if he falls into the middle rounds, then his value would increase with his talented potential.

The Browns have been decimated at tight end in 2009, with Steve Heiden placed on the Injured Reserve and Robert Royal dropped almost every pass that is thrown his way.

Gersham represents a low risk-high reward talent as long as he drops a few rounds in 2010, and if he does, the Browns should consider him a viable blocking and receiving threat for years to come.

2008 College Stats: 66 receptions for 950 yards and 14 touchdowns

Trent Williams, Tackle, Oklahoma

91384190

You may think that there is favoritism being shown toward Oklahoma teams, but let's be honest and say that both teams are putting out very talented players into the NFL right now.

Williams figures to be a left tackle in the NFL, and since the Browns already have one of the best young left tackles in Joe Thomas, this pick seems to make no sense.

Unless of course you put Williams over at right tackle, which the Browns desperately need help at.

Williams is seen as a late first, high second round pick and if the Browns trade down from the top ten, he could be their man.

Ndamukong Suh, Defenstive Tackle, Nebraska

Rackmultipart

As of right now, Suh is the No. 1 overall pick in many of the mock drafts on the internet and the Browns are rated as the No. 32 team in the NFL.

Add those two together, and it looks like the Browns should pick Suh.

He make not make any sense since the Browns already have Shaun Rogers, but just think about lining up Suh right next to Rogers, then you very well could have one of the best defensive line tandems in the NFL and offensive coordinators would cringe looking at those two and scratch his head on how to run the ball against the Browns' defense.

Suh is such a talented prospect that unless another team REALLY wanted him more than the Browns, then the Browns should just select Suh to help improve their defensive line.

2009 College Stats: 70 tackles, seven sacks, one interception

Eric Berry, Defensive Back, Tennessee

90791200

Nowadays it seems like almost every singe Browns fan on the Internet wants Berry in the Browns' defensive backfield.

With current safety, Brodney Pool, in his final year of his contract, if the Browns do not bring him back, then they will need a suitable replacement at safety.

With the Browns possibly holding the No. 1 overall pick in the 2010 draft, it seems silly to take a safety in that spot because any experts will tell you that a team has to stick with either a quarterback or an offensive or defensive lineman.

Berry represents a tough choice for the Browns at the No.1 spot, especially since many have compared Berry's playmaking abilities to that of a Ed Reed or even a Troy Polamalu since he does line up at various defensive positions during games.

The Browns do need help in their defensive backfield and Berry's versatility may be too good to pass up even with the top pick in the draft.

2009 College Stats: 75 tackles, two interceptions, one forced fumble

Cameron Heyward, Defensive End, Ohio State

Rackmultipart

Heyward is the son of former NFL player Craig "Ironhead" Heyward, and he has been moving up the draft charts with his player in 2009.

Coming out of almost no where and leading the Buckeyes to another Big Ten title on the defensive side of the ball.

The Browns need to start getting younger on their defensive line and Heyward could be a great pick in the middle rounds (unless his stock continues to rise).

2009 College Stats: 42 tackles, five sacks

Brandon Ghee, Cornerback, Wake Forest

Rackmultipart

Ghee has been a shut down cornerback for most of his career with Wake Forest.

His stats were never spectacular, but that was because opposing teams never really threw in his direction much.

Ghee has great size at 6'1" and 190 pounds to be a starter in the NFL, and with the Browns needed another corner opposite of Eric Wright, Ghee would be a good compliment.

2009 College Stats: 52 tackles

Brandon Spikes, Linebacker, Florida

92870053

Spikes has missed some time in 2009 with injuries and that might possibly move him out of the first round, but regardless, the Browns need a playmaker at linebacker and Spikes would be a great fit.

Whether or not the Browns use him in the middle or on the outside, Spikes would be able to step into the starting lineup immediately and make an impact not only in the running defense but in the pass defense too.

2009 College Stats: 40 tackles, three sacks, two interceptions

DARK HORSE PICK: Dexter McCluster, Running Back, Mississippi

84365365

So McCluster is VERY small for a NFL running back at 5'8" and 165 pounds, but then you have to look at Darren Sproles of the Sand Diego Chargers who is a similar size and look at his success.

McCluster can and will find success in the NFL, but whether the Browns will pick him remains to be seem since their need is really in a big power back.

Still, if McCluster was available when picking in the middle rounds, he would be hard to pass up due to his speed and elusiveness.

2009 College Stats: Rushing—903 yards, 6.9 yard per carry average, six touchdowns

Receiving—34 receptions for 412 yards and two touchdowns
