Cardinals Work Out Mike Nugent, UFL Kicker
Adam Scheftler is reporting vis twitter that the Arizona Cardinals have worked out kickers Matt Bryant and Mike Nugent. Cardinals kicker Neil Rackers is nursing a tweaked groin, and his status for Sunday is unknown.
Both Nugent and Bryant were with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the preseason. Bryant was released, and then he signed with a UFL team. The Cardinals apparently expect Rackers to play.
Stover has completed 82.1 percent of his kicks in the NFL, and Nugent has completed 78.6 percent of his kicks. Bryant hit a 62 yard field goal in the 2006 regular season, which is one of the longest in the history of the NFL.
