New York Islander Fan Central has the following early updates for June 15:
* Isles website with more draft party details, which include prospects Jack Hillen and Robin Figren in attendance.
* A review of Kyle Beach.
* Another infrequent sloppy article from Newsday reporter Greg Logan, where he has an interview with Alexei Yashin's agent Marc Gandler on his client's unlikely return to New York. This will no doubt stir up fan reaction but does not even bother getting a comment (or a no-comment) from Gandler on another client in Sean Bergenheim—about his World Championship injury or his restricted free agent status after he signed to play in Russia two years ago.
* Logan in the Newsday blog did get Garth Snow's comments on the upcoming draft, where he talked about some specific players but did not reveal any strategy. It's interesting how in the article on Yashin he could not reach Garth Snow for comment, but in the blog about the prospects the Islander GM is quoted several times.
* A New Jersey paper did a profile on defenseman John Carlson, who is projected to go late in the first round who was compared with former Islander Bryan McCabe among other defenders.
New York Islander Fan Central next Friday at 6:45 p.m. and Saturday beginning at 9:45 a.m. will have a live interactive blog for anyone wishing to talk about the draft or anything Islander hockey related.
