"To Let Speak, Or To Not Let Speak?" That Is The Question About Shelton.
Though I am so very glad that Shelton will be in a match to 'steal the show', Last night's ECW further proved that the WWE still doesn't trust Shelton on the mic. Did Shelton ask for a No. 1 contender's match?...no...Did Shelton challenge for the title?...no...Did Shelton demand a ladder match?...no...But he did have a conversation with Christian in which he just agreed to what Christian put on the table...
My issue is not so much that Shelton's mic skills are not trust worthy, but that they are not trusted... He is being cut short. If Shelton asked/demanded that he got these opportunities, then it could have solidified his 70/75 mic skills (yes that was a SvR 2010 reference). This match will be huge for Shelton if and only if he wins. If he loses, then he maybe doomed, because it translates as if Shelton just happened upon these opportunities.
I must point out that one of the small, yet huge things that happened during his match with Zack, was that he got really pumped during a comeback, and the fans responded. That was a small gesture with huge ramifications.
The Ladder Match at TLC will be an instant classic (no pun intended...better yet...I hope it's not intended), in front of a, what I think, pro-Shelton crowd.
Quote me on this. Shelton Benjamin is the new Shawn Michaels. Their track records are very...VERY similar. People forget that Shawn bumbled around the WWF for a while before people finally loved or hated him...just sayin'.
Side Note: I really do think/hope that the WWE is slowly pushing for a new Nation of Domination. A lot of alliances are being drawn between similar people if you get my drift...
