Mayweather Vs Pacquiao: Who Would Win?
Al Bello/Getty Images
OK, before I get started, I haven't writen an article in awhile (so I might be a little rusty), and this will BE MY ONLY Boxing article you will ever see, EVER!!!!!!
Now, back to where I was, I read this on MSN Sports: Boxing/MMA, now I'm not coping the article what so ever, but I thought this would be interesting read. So if you'd like to read MSN's version Click Here.
Pacquiao-Mayweather would indeed be a historic fight, Mayweather, who is 40-0 and has been undefeated for 13 years. And has beaten the likes of Ricky Hatton, Manuel-Marquez, and De La Hoya and others.
Pacquiao, however, who is the First and only Septuple Champion to win 7 Titles in 7 different weight divisions and carries a record of 50-3-2. Manny has also beaten the likes of Hatton, Manuel-Marquez(1st time Draw; 2nd time win), Cotto (biggest Boxing PPV buy of the year), De La Hoya, and many others.
Now for some determination, I'm going to do this is 3 differnet "rounds" Round 1: will be expirence (so say I had Tyson's total 58 fights compared to Hatton's total of 47, it would not be on who has a better record W-L-D, NC, but how well they did in fights.)
Round 2: will be how many titles they've won, that's simple as it is.
Round 3: How the outcome of thier past 6 fights (W-L-D) (W/L by [T]KO, Descion)
Round 1: Expirenece
Now by expirence Mayweather who has 40-0 as a reocrd obviously has 40 fights, Pacquiao who has a record of 50-3-2, overal totaling up to 55 fights, beating Mayweathers by 15 extra fights, so in expierence it looks like Pacquiao would win, but remember, it how good they've done in all fights, not just the record, so I call this a draw since this isn't a "who has more fights" contest, it's overal how well they've done, so I see this as a draw
Round 1: DRAW
Round 2: How many titles has each boxer won?
Well, we all know Pacquiao has won 7 Titles in Seven different weight classes, as Pacquiao's Champioships are:
- WBC Flyweight Championship
- IBF Super Bantamweight
- The Ring Featherweight
- WBC Super Featherweight
- The Ring Super Featherweight
- WBC Lightweight Championship
- The Ring Junior Welterweight
- WBO Welterweight Championship
So In titles as of now, Pacquiao has won more titles than Mayweather (or has he?, No Im just kidding)
Mayweathers Championships:
- WBC Featherweight Championship
- WBC Lightweight Championship
- WBC Super Lightweight Championship
- IBF Welterweight Championship
- IBO Welterweight Championship
- IBA Welterwight Championship
- WBC Welterweight Championship
- WBC Super Welterweight Championship
- The Ring Welterweight Championship
OK, I'm suprised now, Pacquiao's 7 Titles vs Mayweather's 9 Title's, I thinking Mayweather wins this round, just inching by the Pound-4-Pound King of Baxing, while Pacquiao is a Septuple Champion is 7 Weight classes, Mayweather just passes Pac-Man with an extra 2.
Round 2: Mayweather
Round 3:
Both men have won thier past six fights, but in differnet fashion, here's ther results from both men's past six fights:
Mayweather:
- Manuel Marquez: Descision (Unan.)
- Ricky Hatton: TKO
- De La Hoya: Descision (Split)
- Carlos Baldomir: Descision (Unan.)
- Zab Judah: Descision (Unan.)
- Sharmba Mitchell: TKO
Mayweather obviously undefeated, has won only 2 of his past six by way of TKO, will the Pound-4-Pound King get past Mayweather in this round?
Pacquiao:
- Cotto: TKO
- Ricky Hatton: KO
- Oscar De La Hoya: TKO
- David Diaz: TKO
- Manuel Marquez: Desicion (Split)
- Antonio Barrera: Desicion (Unan.)
Well, It looks like Pacquiao passes Mayweather in this round with 4 TKO/KO victories!
Round 3: Pacquiao
Well, after three rounds we have our results
Round 1: Draw
Round 2: Mayweather
Round 3: Pacquiao
Well, in my opinion, this fight would either be a draw of Pacquiao winnign by way of KO.
