Dan Snyder speaks again, We call Bullshit

Mark Buterbaugh by Senior Analyst Written on November 24, 2009

Dan Snyder SmugAnd of course, we respond again.

Take via our friend Dan Steinberg, Dan Snyder, owner of the Washington, Redskins, has decided to open his mouth again.

“Dan, talking to people in the community here, they know what a big difference you make,” she began. “And this is the same community that wants to know that you guys are gonna make changes and that is starting to lose faith in the organization. What do you say to them about that?”

“Right now, today, we’re just celebrating Thanksgiving and giving back to the community as best we can,” Snyder said. “Obviously I think the team’s playing hard, but we’re all very, very disappointed, and obviously I’m as disappointed as everyone. And we’re hoping to get things straightened out in the near future.”

Czarniak asked if fans could expect changes, but Snyder had already begun saying his goodbyes.

“Thanks,” he said. “See you guys. Happy Thanksgiving, ok?”

First off, we thought Washington Capitals owner Ted Leonsis gave excellent advice on public relations.  We wrote about it HERE.  Snyder obviously didn’t read it, hear it, or well, he simply ignores it, much like everything else.

Snyder had an opportunity to speak forcefully about change, but failed to so.  In fact, he hid from it.  Some will say, well, the Redskins are still in the middle of a season.  Ummm, who cares.  Snyder is losing a fan base quickly, a fan base that developed over 70 years, he is tearing down over 10 years.

We wrote that Snyder didn’t get it.  Guess what, he still doesn’t.

People say it is not his style to open up about the franchise.  Well, when you are losing a fan base, you should.  He doesn’t have any problem firing coaches.  Firing Redskins Park employees.  Raising parking prices.  Destroying tailgating experiences.  Buying up media mouth pieces.  Humiliating people.  yes, he its too shy to address the fans?  Oh please.

Snyder still doesn’t get it.
