UCF's Rocky Ross Named to ESPN Mag's Academic All-America Second Team

UCFAthletics.com just announced to the media that UCF senior wide receiver Rocky Ross was named one of 2009's ESPN The Magazine's Academic All-America Second Team, one of the biggest awards a student athlete can earn. The College Sports Information Directors of America chose the members of this year's teams.

Ross is second this year on UCF's squad with 31 catches for 371 yards and three touchdowns. His best play of the season was against Marshall a few weeks ago on national television. Ross grabbed the game winning score with less than 20 seconds on the play clock, a truly remarkable event in a closely contested game.

The award winner has definitely been an instrumental part of the Knights' success this season, as they now go 7-4 into their last game of the season at UAB this coming Saturday. UCF has clinched a bowl game, the location of which has not been determined yet.   For more information, go to www.ucfbowl.com.
