Coyotes' Keith Yandle Is Too Hot to Handle

With all the injuries the Phoenix Coyotes have on their blue line, somebody had step up. That person was Keith Yandle.

The 23-year-old native of Boston, Mass., has recorded two goals and three assists in the past seven games, including the game-winning goal on Saturday against Philadelphia.

Yandle has seen his ice time improve greatly since the injury bug bit, and he has not disappointed. His mediocre defensive play reduced his playing time last season, but Yandle has stepped up his performance so far this year.

Along with Ed Jovanovski, Yandle has the best offensive upside of any Phoenix Coyote. He shown he has the ability to take the puck end to end and create great scoring chances for the Coyotes. He is also one of if not the best power play quarterbacks for the squad.

With the 2010 Winter Olympics around the corner, Yandle may just play his way on to the U.S. hockey team. If not this year, Yandle certainly should be a mainstay for the Americans in the next couple of Olympics.

One of the best young defenseman in the entire league, Yandle could possibly be one of the best in the league period in a few years' time. Not bad four a fourth-round draft pick.
