Denver Broncos: A Few Random Thoughts After Week 11

Howard Worton by Contributor Written on November 23, 2009

So, here we stand, at 6-4 after week 11 of this NFL season. For sure it has been something of a roller-coaster ride so far.

I have deliberately not posted in the past few weeks - I thought book-ending the San Diego games would give us a good idea of where we stand.

For sure, things since that first game - a wonderful Monday Night win in SoCal - have been disappointing. However, let us look at the bigger picture. 6-4 is not so bad, a lot of good and some poor teams are right there with us around that mark. We are in position to still contend for either the division or a wild-card place.

Yes, I know as well as any other fan how poor they have been since that bye-week. Penalties, turnovers, miscues, mistakes. There have been far too many of them all, and I am not going to go into them in detail here. You know all about them already.

What I am keen to get across is positivity. Things could be a whole lot worse - we've beaten some very good teams already, and every time we play another one, it's a great opportunity to prove a lot of doubters wrong, again.

What I cannot understand is how quickly fans have turned on the team. Now is not the time to start yapping about how right you were, and how terrible we are and how coach x should do this or player z should not be doing that. When the season is over there is a long time to analize in detail the minutiae.

Things have been totally unpredictable so far and look to continue that way. Who is to say we wont finish 12-4 ? Unlikely but then so was 6-0.

Enjoy the next 6 weeks of action. Win, lose or draw, I know I'll miss it when it's over.
