A true fallen Buffalonian
Earlier today a true Buffalonian lost his life to a heart attack at age 58, that man would be Tim Russert.
He was born on May 7, 1950 in Buffalo, NY. Russert was an journalist who hosted NBC's Meet the Press. He was NBC News Washington Bureau Chief and he hosted a weekly interview program on MSNBC Tim Russery. He was a correspondent and guest on NBC's The Today Show and Hardball. He co hosted the network's presidential Election Night coverage and presented the polling results of the NBC News Wall Street Journal on the NBC Nightly News.
Most of all Russert was an avid Buffalo Bills fan. Russert was actively involved in trying to keep the Bills in Buffalo. Russert, Senator Schumer, and former commissioner Paul Tagliabue all worked together to come up with a plan to keep the Bills in Buffalo .
A quote that stuck out to me when writing this is when Russert said in an interview with NFL films when referring to the Bills four straight Super Bowl losses " Dallas doesn't need this, they have big oil, and big blonde hair dues, and big skyscrapers, they have their own identity, and then the Redskins, Washington doesn't need this, they have the White House, the Pentagon, and Congress, and then Buffalo we have the Bills, that's who we are"
We thank Russert for his actions to try to keep the Bills in Buffalo and to help them out and support them. He will always be remembered not just as a man but as well as an true Buffalonian.
