S.O.S.—who is coming to the rescue? Jose Santiago needs to know who's going to save the New York Mets from their own bullpen.

Once again, a New York Mets pitcher throws a gem against Arizona and the bullpen lets us down.

Santana's seven shutout innings, three hits, and 10 K's went down the drain when Joe Smith, Billy Wagner, and Aaron Heilman allowed a combined five runs over three innings.

This time there wasnt a hero to let them off the hook. Final score 5-4. Do the math. Guess who won?

Two years ago one of our strongest point, if not the strongest, was the bullpen. Now, it's frustrating to know one of them is going to come to "help" the starting pitcher by ineffectively relieving them.

Our starting corps won't have the stamina to last long into the playoffs if this keeps up. I don't really care who is it to blame at this point, the blaming war takes us nowhere, but how about a fix for it ASAP?

    PLAYOFFS??? You kidding me? The way this team is playing they'll be lucky if they finish 4th in their own division....sorry i had to go jim mora on everybody lol

    I have to agree with you...I still have some hope of them making the playoffs (although that ray of hope gets dimmer by the minute)...

    They need some serious help in that 'pen. Even as a Yankee fan, it's hard to watch the Mets. Johan struck out 10 D'Backs--that's impressive! Santana was amazing today, and that bullpen screwed him over. To me, he earned himself his 8th win--that bullpen lost the game, not him. What is the problem with Wagner?

    The starting pitchers for the Mets have been fine. Surprisingly its been the relief.
