Sources indicate, and this isn't confirmed, that only a short time ago, LaMont Jordan was seen at Halas Hall, and he has apparently signed with the Bears after being released by the Oakland Raiders.
Though most fans were pulling for Forte to take over the starting role, it appears the Bears want a little more security at the position. Jordan signed with the Raiders in 2005 and rushed for 1,025 yards and caught 70 passes that season. Injuries, and the emergence of Justin Fargas, cut into Jordan's playing time for the past two seasons.
Jordan, 29, rushed for 424 yards in Oakland's first four games last season, second only to Pittsburgh's Willie Parker to that point. However, he injured his back midway through the fourth game and spent most of the final 12 games searching for a way to get back on the field.
I'll keep you posted as I continue to attain information.

FWIW - Lamont is still listed on the Raiders.com roster and doesn't appear in the team's site transactions list. That doesn't mean he hasn't been released or that he isn't going to Chicago, just that the Raiders haven't made that information public yet.
The Raiders haven't released Jordan up to this point because they are looking for a trade. An agreement in place with Chicago would give Oakland some leverage with another team that may be interested in Jordan and willing to give up a low round pick. If the Raiders do release him it would indicate that there isn't much market for Lamont Jordan, probably because of his back injuries and reputation for slacking in the offseason. Still, Lamont Jordan would upgrade Chicago's backfield as it now stands.

I honestly hope this isn't true - though he would definitely be an upgrade. I'd like to see what Forte can do though. And like I said, take this with a grain of salt - this is only hearsay at this point, but I just thought I'd pass it on to my fellow Bear fans.
